Did you also know about these 5 uncommon voice facts?

  1. Your vocal cords vibrate fast. When singing higher notes, the vocal folds can vibrate hundreds of times per second.

  2. Your voice depends on your whole body. Singing involves your lungs, vocal folds, throat, mouth, tongue, and even your posture working together.

  3. Singers can train their ears to recognize tiny differences in pitch. With practice, singers can become much better at noticing whether a note is slightly higher or lower.

  4. Your voice is unique to you. The shape of your vocal tract, mouth, tongue, and other physical features all contribute to your individual vocal sound.

  5. Singing can involve multiple parts of the brain. When you sing, your brain works on several tasks at once, including controlling breathing, pitch, rhythm, language, and memory.
